LuluÌýWangÌýis currently writing to direct an adaptation of AUDITION, the Booker Prize-longlisted novel by Katie KitamuraÌýwith Lucy Liu and Charles Melton on board to star. The Obamas' Higher Ground Productions and LAIKA will produce the film in association with Wang's Local TimeÌýbanner.Ìý

Previously, LuluÌýdeveloped Amazon'sÌýEXPATS, the limited series adapted from Janice Y.K. Lee’s bestselling novel. She served as showrunner/writer, and directed all six episodes. The series, which premiered on Prime Video, featured an ensemble cast led by Nicole Kidman, Sarayu Blue, Ji-Young Yoo, Jack Huston, and Brian Tee.ÌýWang is also producing two highly anticipated projects for Searchlight Pictures:ÌýAGAIN AGAIN AGAIN, penned by celebrated comedian and writer Joel Kim Booster, andÌýTHE EYES ARE THE BEST PART, marking the directorial debut of actress and writer Greta Lee.

Wang first rose to international prominence with her sophomore feature,ÌýTHE FAREWELL, which she wrote and directed. The A24 breakout became a cultural phenomenon, earning the Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature, a Golden Globe win for Awkwafina and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language.
