Undergraduate Student Assistant I

The Taatjes Lab in the Biochemistry department at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ seeks to hire two Student Assistant I, to work 8-12 hours/week. Responsibilities will include preparation of media, growing and harvesting HeLa cells using sterile cell culture techniques.

Hourly Salary: $20/hour

Minimum requirements: current enrollment at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, majoring in biochemistry, MCDB, or related field.

Responsibilities will include to provide in-person, one-on-one sessions, help student improve their knowledge of the course material, provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment, maintain consistent communication with the student, and maintain consistent communication with the Undergraduate Program Coordinator.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3.0 GPA, Minimum of a B in the tutoring course. Full time Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ student who is at least a sophomore, passionate about course content and has the desire to share with other students, desire to teach/share study skills for students’ own success. Work with limited supervision.

Start Date: Spring 2026, expected to continue for multiple semesters. Hourly pay of $20.00.
